I’m a YA writer and obsessive reader. I intern for Gennifer Albin, author of the amazing CREWEL trilogy, and write about my addiction to Dr. Who on Fangirlsh. I’m interested in almost all genres when it comes to finding a good book to read. I’ll read just about anything, including non-fictions. When it comes to what I want to write, though, I stick mostly with horror/sci-fi/fantasy/paranormal YAs.
My journey to become a published author is going to be a long one, but I’m determined and ready to put in the time and effort that I know it’ll take. Getting published won’t happen over night… it’s more like over a course of a couple years. Luckily, I’m a very patient person.
When I’m writing, getting published isn’t my main motivation. I write because I have to and need to or else I might implode. If I go a day without writing or revising something (or at the very least, query/agent/market research/reading another book/jotting down ideas) then it’s a failed day. I’ve pretty well at avoiding those. To paraphrase Octavia Butler, habit’s more dependable and will help you finish and polish your stories more than inspiration. If you read my blog or check out my tumblr (Inspired to Write), you’ll quickly see I love quotes.
